Our beloved Cooley crossed the rainbow bridge—and our world has not been the same since.
He was Aiden’s best friend—his heart horse, his shadow, his soul companion. He loved him deeply, purely, and without condition. He nickered for Aiden whenever he saw him. He would wait for him, follow him, and rest his head on Aiden’s shoulder any chance he could. Together, they shared the quiet kind of friendship that most people only dream of.
He was Aiden’s confidant, his therapy, his best friend. In every season of growth, joy, and even struggle, Cooley was there. With every bareback ride, every walk through the woods, Cooley stood as a living reminder of love’s quiet power.
And when his time came, he did not go alone. He left surrounded by the very love he gave so freely—and Aiden, with unimaginable courage, stayed by his side and later buried his best friend with his own hands. No child should have to lay their best friend to rest—but Aiden did so with reverence, with grief, and with the kind of love that doesn’t break—it just aches forever.
Even the animals feel the loss. Weylan, Cooley’s loyal pasture mate, stood nearby and watched as his friend slipped away. He has been grieving—quiet in a way we’ve never seen before. There is an emptiness now where the two of them once stood side by side. The bond they shared was real, deep, and unspoken.
The whole farm is mourning. The barn feels still. And though his stall is empty, our hearts are full of the memories he gave us.
But we do not grieve without hope. We believe that Cooley now runs strong and free in the heavenly pastures, watched over by the God who created him with such gentleness. And we trust that one day, we will be reunited.
Cooley, you were one of the greatest gifts we have ever known. You loved us well, and we will love you forever.
